The UAE consists of 7 local Customs Departments, with each Emirate having its own Customs Department its jurisdiction. At the top of the Customs Departments’ hierarchy is the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security.

The law that regulates customs matters in the United Arab Emirates is the GCC Common Customs Regulation “Law.”

The Common Customs Regulations “Law” refers to the rules and provisions governing customs matters and any other supplementing or amending rules or provisions.
