Peter Davies is a corporate and technology Partner in the firm’s Dubai office. He advises clients in particular Asian-headquarted businesses, ECommerce platforms, family offices and investment funds and portfolio companies on matters including strategic partnerships, new market entry, joint ventures and consortium deals, private M&A transactions (with a focus on venture capital and private equity investments), government relations, crisis management and regulatory affairs.
Peter has significant experience advising on multijurisdictional investments and commercial transactions, intially from London where he practiced as a lawyer at Herbert Smith (later HSF) and LeBeouf Lamb (later Dawey & LeBeouf), and from 2008 from Hong Kong with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.
In addition to his experience in private practice, Peter has also held a number of non-lawyer senior executive positions including head of international strategic partnerships at DiDi Chuxing and head of strategic readiness, risk and compliance EMEA for TikTok E-Commerce (a part of the Bytedance group). In these roles he has been responsible for sourcing, designing and implementing strategic partnerships and for negotiating market entry into difficult regulatory and political environments.
He spends significant time in the APAC region. Peter speaks fluent Mandarin and is proficient in written Chinese.
